Artificial intelligence-supported coding agent from xAI: Grok Build

Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company xAI announced Grok Build, a new artificial intelligence coding agent for developers. The terminal-based tool can manage processes such as code writing, debugging, application development and task automation with natural language commands.

According to the information shared by xAI, Grok Build was developed with the “agentic CLI” approach. The tool not only generates code, but also can schedule multi-step software tasks, manipulate files, and use sub-agents that can execute different tasks in parallel.

The company states that Grok Build is designed especially for professional software teams and advanced developers. The tool comes with a new interface, real-time task flows and team collaboration features that offer an uninterrupted experience within the terminal. It is also stated that users can create full application flows with natural language commands.

Behind Grok Build is the Grok 4.3model that xAI recently introduced. The company states that Grok 4.3 offers stronger performance than previous models, especially in software development, agent-based tool use and complex task management. It was also among the shared details that the model has a 1 million token context window.

Grok Build is currently in early beta and is initially available to SuperGrok Heavy subscribers who pay $300 per month. xAI announced that it plans to improve the product with feedback from developers during the beta process.

Recently, competition among artificial intelligence companies in the field of coding agents has accelerated. While Anthropic’s Claude Code tool and OpenAI’s software development-oriented solutions are becoming widespread among developers, xAI aims to take a more assertive position in this race with Grok Build.
